Experienced GP With A Focused Practice Designation in Dermatology, Recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Health
Dr. Bashar Al Hakeem is a GP Dermatology Physician (General Practitioner with a focused practice on disorders of the skin). He provides assessment and management of a wide range of skin conditions for patients of all ages.
Dr. Al Hakeem received his certification in Family Medicine in Canada and subsequently completed a Diploma in Practical Dermatology at Cardiff University in the United Kingdom. He then practiced at the Lynde Institute for Dermatology in Markham, Ontario, for four years as a full-time GP Dermatology physician, focusing on dermatology consultations and skin disease management.
Dr. Al Hakeem holds a designation in GP Dermatology from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), and is a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
Scope of care includes:
•Mole checks and skin cancer screening
•Skin biopsies and specimen collection for diagnosis
•Management of acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other chronic skin disorders
•Assessment and treatment of hair loss
•General dermatology consultations
Consultations are by referral only. Referrals are accepted from all family physicians, walk-in physicians, and nurse practitioners. All services are fully covered by OHIP.
